Age 79 yrs., 10 mos., 3 dys. Parents Adam Moffatt, born Galt, and Jane Cairick, born Ontario. Informant Mrs. Newton Grummett, Sheffield, Ont., neice. Burial Mountview Cemetery, Galt, on January 27, 1943. Catherine's father Adam was born in Dumfries Township. Catherine was almost certainly born in Beverly Township. Catherine was called Kate, or Katie, in her youth, but is shown as Catherine on her gravestone in section 3 of Mountview Cemetery. Microfilm GS2987 which shows First Church baptism records records the baptism of Catherine Garrick (or Garrock) on May 29, 1864. Catherine's death registration shows her date of birth as 21 March 1863. The 1901 census at Beverly Township, however, shows her birth date as 21 March, 1864. With a view to her baptism date, the 1901 census will be correct. |
