| Note | Birth reg. 033131-81 North Dumfries, Waterloo Co. George Waler Mulholland born 16th May 1881. Parents William B. Mulholland, laborer, and Susana Margret Keil. Physician none. Informant Wm. B. Mulholland, Branchton. George's middle name definitely reads 'Waler' on the form. This may be a handwriting issue. The township clerk was at Ayr and it may be that William Muholland filed the birth registrations for his children by mail. It is understood that forms were available at the local post offices. Death reg. 017923-82 North Dumfries, Waterloo Co. George Wallace Mulholland died 4th March 1882. Age 9 months and 16 days. Born North Dumfries. Cause of death not known. Ill one week. Religious denomination 'Luthern'. Physician Dr. Smith, Sheffield. Informant William Mulholland. The Lutheran religious designation at first glance seems a little counterintuitive for a North Dumfries family, but this is shown as the family's religious affiliation in the 1881 census. A sure place of burial for infant George has not been found. The dated burials in the family plot at St. George Cemetery are all much later. There is, however, a recorded footstone in the family plot at St. George that simply says 'Baby'. This may or may not be a marker for George. |
