On Jany 24, 1867. Rebecca's marriage registration places her birth in New Brunswick. All other records found place her birth in Nova Scotia. The county marriage registrations rarely provide the exact location of the marriage. In all probability the marriage was held in Westminster Township, though this is hardly certain. The above registration provides the maiden name of the groom, but not the bride. Rebecca lived to a goodly age and died in 1927 in London, Ontario. Her daughter, Mrs. T. M. Brown (Mary Frances) was the informant and provided the family information. She shows Rebecca's parents as Gilbert Elliott and Mary Russell McKenzie, both born Scotland. |
