Note | William's death registration places his birth in Erin Village. William and Jenny were married in Galt in 1904, but, apparently not long after, moved to Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan, where their three children were born. William and Jennie are still in Qu'Appelle at the time of the 1911 census. Certainly, by 1913, they are in Orangeville. William's death registration indicates that he suffered from 'diabetes millitus' for 18 months. This was given as the primary cause of his death. The immediate cause of death was a coma. The death registration was certified by Drs. Jas. Hunter and A.T. Carson. The family informant was Jennie M. Hunter of 14 Crescent Road, Galt. William's parentage is not given on his death registration. Death reg. 012295-13 Orangeville, Dufferin County. William Henry Hunter died January 4, 1913. Date of birth February 4, 18??. Age 36 years 11 months (1876). Born Erin Village. Place of death Orangeville. Druggist. Married. Parentage not given. Death certified by Doctors Jas. Hunter and A.T. Carson. Informant Jennie M. Hunter of 14 Crescent Road, Galt. It does not appear that Jennie remarried after William's death. It should be noted that the inscription on the stone in Mountview Cemetery shows the death of William H. Hunter as March 4, 1913. Jennie died in 1973 and it may be that the inscription was not placed on the stone until then. The death registration with comparable dates on other entries makes it clear that William died January 4, 1913. The 1901 census at Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan, shows William as a boarder in a boarding house. He is shown as a chemist. His date of birth is given as February 4, 1876. |
