See OGS publication #95 Vol. 5, Marriages Grace Anglican Church, 1888-1898, City of Brantford. This agrees with the marriage registration on most points, but does record Robert's middle name as Hastie and Emma's middle name as Wainery. It also shows the second witness as Miss Lizzie Burwell, possibly the same person as Elizabeth T. Potts, or...a clerical error somewhere along the line. They do exist.

MarriageShe married James Shepherd.
DeathShe died on 6 July 1895 at Galt, Waterloo Co., Ontario.
BurialShe was buried at Section 2, Mountview Cemetery, Galt..
NoteEmma W. Shepherd is first found in Galt at the time of the 1871 census with her husband James Shepherd. He is shown as age 31 and she as 30. They are both shown as being members of the Church of England. James is a tailor. Ages excepted, this information is essentially the same as of the 1881 census. There is no evidence of them having children.

Emma's death registration, below, shows her as a Presbyterian. If this is correct then, obviously, she was at the time of her death no longer a member of the Church of England. Hence her burial with her husband's family in Mountview. James Shepherd's place of burial has not been found, though it may be that he is buried in a yet-to-be-found Anglican Cemetery (there is no evidence that he is buried in Trinity Anglican Cemetery in Galt).

Death reg. 017840-95 Galt, Waterloo Co.
