| Note | Hugh McKenzie, in his marriage registration, shows his parents to be John and Margaret McKenzie. It is possible that they are John McKenzie and Margaret Buchanan who appear in this tree. This is problematic, for the 1851 census shows both John and Margaret as born in Scotland and likewise does the 1861 census. The 1861 census does show a Hugh, age 12, in the household of John and Janet McKenzie, but he is too young to be the Hugh McKenzie, age 30, at the time of the 1876 marriage. A place of death or burial for Hugh McKenzie has not been found. |
