Anna Honsberger
ID # 4935, (1825-1884)
Birth | Anna Honsberger was born on 15 March 1825. |
Marriage | She married Christian Christner on 10 February 1846 at Wellington District. For the following, refer The Marriage Registers of Upper Canada/Canada West, Volume 9, Part 1, Wellington District, 1840-1852, compiled by Dan Walker & Fawne Stratford-Devai, Global Heritage Press/GlobalGenealogy.com Inc 2013. Extracted from a list of marriages of Rev'd Benjamin Eby, Minister of the Mennonist Society, Berlin Christian Christener to Anna Hunsperger, both of Wilmot, 10 Feb 1846, by banns. Rev. Eby. Wit. John Christener and Maria Hunsperger. 1. See notes under Anna for spellings of her name. 2. Most district's marriage registers are to be found on microfilm at the Archives of Ontario under the MS248 series. Familysearch also currently has images from these registers on their website. The marriage register for the Wellington District is an exception. There was but one copy and instead of the clerk transcribing the returns into the register, they were simply pasted in. The preamble to this register tells how a Mrs. Hinds purchased the register with her own funds from a private dealer and then generously donated it to the Wellington County Museum at Fergus. It is understood to be on microfilm at the museum. This has been transcribed by Mr. Walker and Ms. Stratford-Devai and their work is available, as mentioned above, through Global Genealogy. The Wellington District included most of the townships which became Waterloo County (North Dumfries excepted) as well as much of present day Wellington and Grey counties. The work is in two volumes and presently also available in PDF format. This is a worthy acquisition for the serious researcher. |
