| Note | Thomas Carrick and his family were in North Dumfries at the time of the 1871 census. By 1881, they are in Puslinch Township in Wellington County. Catherine was either born in Puslinch or at least spent her early years there. The 1900 census at Towner County in North Dakota shows the family as having come to the U.S. in 1886. The 1900 census at Towner County shows Thomas and Catherine with daughter Katie. Son Robert is also in Towner County with wife Florence. Daughter Jeanett is in Pembina County with husband William Foster and a number of children. By the time of the 1910 census, Thomas and Catherine are in Pembina County with Jeanett. Jeanett is a widow with a number of children. Jeanett is still in Pembina County in 1920, but Thomas and Catherine are now with son Alexander in Yakima, Washington.
