Witnesses William Carrick and Agness McIntosh. The difference? The church record shows the marriages location, Dumfries (township). The district marriage record does not. That the groom's name cannot be read on GS2987 is almost certainly an imaging problem. |

Their stone indicates that an infant son is buried with them, but no name is given and no dates are shown. At the time of the 1871 census in North Dumfries, Mary Carrick McIntosh is apparently living in her own home. Jane, age 22, and Angus, age 20 are with her. Angus is shown as a school teacher.
