Note | Alexander, age 3, is shown with his parents in Blenheim Township at the time of the 1861 census. In 1871, he is again with them, age 12. He is with them at the time of the 1881 census in Blenheim, age 22. The 1900 U.S. census shows Alexander as a married man, age 40. He is married to Lillie and has with him four children. This census locates him in Saginaw City, Saginaw County, Michigan, and states that he came to the U.S. in 1882. It places his birth in Canada. Considering that the same census places his sister, Catherine Harvie Jefkins in the same county, it isn't unreasonable to find Alexander located for at least a time. Alexander married Lillie Whitney on February 13 1889, in East Saginaw. They are together with four children at the time of the 1900 census in Saginaw City. By the time of the 1910 census, Alex and Lillie appear to be separated. He has yet to be found in U.S. census information until the 1940 census at Chicago. Lillie remains in Saginaw and is there in the 1910 and 1920 censuses. She died in 1923. Familysearch has a database Illinois Deaths and Stillbirths, 1916-1947, from which there is a transcription. His death information reads as follows: Alex Harvie died 26 June 1945 at Bremen, Cook, Illinois. Age 86. Birth 14 Aug 1858, Plattsville, Canada.
