NoteApologies for this one. (And to those who like to copy, please restrain yourselves.) The following information for Christianna and her place as mother of the children shown is entirely unproven, though McArthur family members of earlier years believed her to be the family's matriarch. It should be considered as a starting point to encourage others in further research. Aspects of this will likely be proven wrong, but some portions of it are probably correct.

For some time it was believed that Daniel McArthur and his sister Janet, or Jennet, McArthur (she was the first wife of Alexander Harvie Jr.) were Margaret's siblings. There is an argument to be made that they were Margaret's nephew and niece, though for now they remain shown as siblings in this tree.

Beyond this, however, there is at least some circumstantial evidence linking the children for Christianna shown in this list. The evidence is hardly overwhelming, but sufficiently compelling to include the names shown and we may say there was certainly a strong McArthur component to the initial extended family trek from New York State to Dumfries Township. (See notes under Archibald Duncan Maclachlan, husband of daughter Mary.)

One further note.

Familysearch has databases relating to Scotland's Old Parochial Registers. Therein they show a Donald McArthur being baptized on 17 November, 1811. If this is indeed Donald who came to Dumfries Township then it was a late baptism. We only note that his parents were Lachlan and Christina. It would be interesting if Lachlan McArthur, who in later years came to Dumfries Township with son Charles was also the father of Donald (Daniel) of Dumfries. Again, satisfactory documentary evidence is lacking to the point of the nonexistent.

And, again, copiers please restrain yourselves. This entry for Christianna is entirely to encourage serious research and not for purposes of giving credence to error. And should this entry for Christianna and possible McArthur family members lead to another researcher's success, this researcher will be entirely satisfied.
