| Note | Birth reg. 034843-90 Galt, Waterloo Co. Norman Buchanan Colvin, born January 2, 1890, son of Andrew Colvin, book keeper, and Bessie Buchanan. According to information in Toronto City Directories, Norman B. Colvin worked in Toronto as a salesman for the Nordheimer Piano Company, appearing in the city directories of 1913 through 1918. He lived at two or three different addresses. The 1930 U.S. census taken at New York City says that Norman is a salesman for a piano manufacturer and that he became a U.S. citizen in 1923. With him in the census is his wife Mary, age 34, and his son Donald, age 15. Donald is said to have been born in Canada. The Colvin family bible birth page reads: Norman Buchanan (Colvin) born at Galt, Ontario, on Thursday, January 2nd, 1890, Baptized 18th June 1890. |
