Burial Oak Hill Nov. 13, 1928. Informant Geo. Fleming, 92 Prall. George Fleming gets mention in the above death registration, so we will tell something of this very decent fellow here. George Fleming was married to Margaret's sister Mary. According to family historian Joan Fleming Anders, both Margaret and Mary were afflicted in later years with Alzheimers and he took care of them. Here, I refer to Mrs. Anders' book, A Family History, Fleming, Smith, Inglis, From Scotland to Canada and Beyond. (See page 8.) Mrs. Anders tells that in 1943 George Fleming presented the Glen Morris Church with two stained glass memorial windows, one in memory of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gavin Fleming, and the other in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Harvie, the parents of his wife, Mary Harvie Fleming. George was 96 when he died in 1958. A photo appears of the gravestone of Alexander and Margaret on Find-a-Grave. They are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. |
