| Note | As noted in the notes for James and Ellen's marriage, James' parents were Andrew Dale and Margery Reid. Andrew and Margery are buried in Bethel Pioneer Cemetery in Arthur Township in Wellington County. A transcription of their cemetery stone is provided by the Guelph branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and it tells that Andrew died August 28, 1854, age 70, and Margery died January 29, 1875, age 82. Both are described as natives of Scotland. James Dale is present in Arthur Township with his mother in the 1861 and 1871 censuses. He has not been found thereafter. |
