Rachel Wilber died Feb. 7 1895. Age 66 years, 10 months. Baptist. Born Canada. Wife of C. H. Wilber.

The St. George Baptist Cemetery was transcribed by the Brant County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and is undated. Probably, the transcription was done in the 1980s. Stones 80 thru 82 appears to represent a Wilber plot. Stone 79 may belong to this plot as well.

Stone 82 reads as follows:

(top broken) beloved...Chas. H. Wilber who died Feb. 7, 1895 age 66 yrs., 10 mos. (Verse)

After first noting that the stone is broken, an examination of the death date makes it evident that this is the stone of Rachel Willson Wilber and not that of husband Charles. (The stone as it originally stood probably said something like: Rachel Willson, beloved wife of Chas. H. Wilber, etc.) There is some possibility that the stone as it originally stood commemorated them both. It seems likely that Charles is buried here, though we may note that there are two children of Charles and Rachel buried in the Old Pioneer Presbyterian Cemetery in St. George.
