NoteShe Arsinoe is an obscure classical name. There were four queens of Ptolemaic Egypt known as Arsinoe - the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and we must believe that Arsinoe, daughter of James and Jane derived her name therefrom. (We draw on Wikipedia, here.) Apparently Arsinoe was known to her family as Siny. Looking at the names of the children of James and his brother William, it's reasonable to believe that they sat at the feet of a classical scholar when they took their schooling.
