| Note | Connie Duke's excellent Misener website has it that Jane Blasdell was the daughter of Isaac Blasdell, 1780-1845 and Rebecah Misener, born 6 Jan., 1782, in Sussex Co., New Jersey, and who died 29 Jun, 1855, in Wentworth Co. Rebecah's parents are said to be Peter Misener, 1736-1813, and Mary (no further information). There is some confirmation for this in two transcriptions of Lynden Cemetery, which sits in Ancaster Township. One transcription is by the Hamilton Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and the other appears on Interment.net. The Hamilton OGS version appears below, but this and Interment.net agree on Rebecca's death date. IMO / Rebecca/wife of/ Isaac Blasdell /died June 22 1855 /aged 73 y. 5 m. & 23 d. A stone for Isaac, husband of Rebecca, has not been found. There is also evidence for the burial of children of Isaac and Rebecca in Lynden Cemetery so it seems likely that Isaac is buried there as well, but given that he is said to have died in 1845, his stone has probably not survived. At the time of the 1891 census Jane is shown as being 74 and with her are Almira, 45, and Lucretia, 42, and Jane's brother Richard Blasdell, age 79. Death reg 019163-95 Beverly Twp., Wentworth County Jane Coleman died Nov. 22, 1895, age 79, widow of late James Coleman. Methodist. Physician and informant Dr. Addison of St. George. |
