W. J. H. Emory
ID # 3480, (1861-)
Birth | W. J. H. Emory was born in 1861 at Burlington Plains. |
Marriage | He married Ethel M. Job, daughter of John Samuel Job and Margaret Thompson, on 22 September 1888 at Waterdown, Wentworth Co., Ontario. The following marriage registration has a potential error, though may essentially be correct. It is registered in Niagara Falls though the marriage is stated to be in Waterdown. The registration is presented as written: Mrge reg. 012611-88 Niagara Falls, Welland Co. W. J. H. Emory, 27, bachelor, doctor, Methodist. Born Burlington Plains, residing Toronto. Parents Aaron & Jane. Ethel M. Job, 22, spinster, Methodist. Born Heywood, England, residing Waterdown. Parents John S. and Margaret. Witnesses J. E. Cook, Toronto, and Sadie Griffin, Brantford. On Sept. 22nd (1888), at Waterdown, by V. H. Emory. There are three marriages registered on this page at Niagara Falls, two of which are shown as being held in Niagara Falls. V. H. Emory was evidently the clergyman conducting all three. With the name Emory, the clergyman was likely a member of the groom's family. He was probably invited to Waterdown to conduct the service, but filed the registration in Niagara Falls. |
