John N. Culham
ID # 3426, (1868-1903)
| Birth | John N. Culham was born on 8 August 1868. |
| Marriage | He married Mable Florence Gamble, daughter of John Gamble and Ella Dargie, in 1900. The year 1900 has been chosen arbitrarily for the marriage of Mabel and John. They were in Galt as lodgers in a boarding house at the time of the 1901 census and, presumably, not yet established in their own home. A marriage registration has not been found and it may be that they were married in Niagara Falls, New York, at Mabel's father's home. She was with her father and single at the time of the 1900 census at Niagara Falls, N.Y. |
| Death | He died on 7 January 1903 at Galt, Ontario, at age 34. |
| Burial | He was buried at Section 4, Mountview Cemetery, Galt. |
| Note | A birth registration for John N. Culham has not been found. Death reg. 026053-03 Galt, Waterloo Co. John Culham died Jan. 7, 1903. Married. Born Canada. Residence Lowrey Ave. Cause of death smallpox, 8 days. The physician was John Howitt, but the informant was J. S. Wardlaw, M. H. O. J. S. Wardlaw was a doctor in Galt and, apparently, the family's doctor for he delivered daughter Dortha. His filing of the death registration with the intials M.H.O. after his name stood for Medical Health Officer (see 1897 Souvenir Jubilee of Galt.) In reporting John's death, Dr. Wardlaw was evidently acting in a dual capacity. This will have to do with John's death by infectious disease. |
