'Campbell' appears as Christiana's second given name on her marriage registration to Lavern Lawrason as well as elsewhere, though not on her birth registration. A record of baptism has not been found. Christina Campbell Elmhirst almost certainly knew her second husband, William John Blezard, from their early years in Otonabee Township, Peterborough County. The Times Business Directory for the Town and County of Peterborough, 1876, shows in Otonabee Township William Blizard on the west half of lot 20 on the 2nd concession, and also Joseph Elmhirst on the west half of lot 24 on the 3rd concession. Both families used the post office in the village of Villiers as their postal address. This post office existed from 1870 to 1914. |
