| Note | According to the 1900 census at Wyandotte, Michigan, George and Laura moved to the U.S. in 1892. They are still in Wyandotte at the time of the 1910 census. Michigan death registration: Wayne County, Wyandotte. George H. Parsons, 2524 Van Alstyne Blvd., died March 27, 1936. Married. Husband of Leah Parsons. Born Nov. 4th, 1860. Age 75 years, 4 months, 23 days. Retired. Birth place 'Brandtford', Ont. Father's name ? Parsons, born England. Mother's name ? Fox, born England. Informant Clifford Parsons, 2524 Van Alstyne, Wyandotte, Michigan. Burial Lambeth, Ontario, March 31, 1936. There are some obvious errors in the above death registration. George gave Simcoe (this will be the town of Simcoe) as his place of birth when giving information for his marriage registration. Likely, it would have been more accurate to say that he was born near Simcoe. His parental information in the death registration is especially in error when giving his mother's maiden name. Again, it's George's marriage registration that makes clear who his parents were. George's first wife Laura Tucker was buried with her parents in St. Thomas Cemetery in the town of St. Thomas in Elgin County, Ontario. George's second wife buried him in Scottsville Cemetery in Westminster Township where at least some of her family were buried. The burial registration states that he was removed to Lambeth Cemetery. In recent years, Lambeth was taken into the city of London. Scottsville Cemetery is located in this area. CanGenWeb has a photo of George and Leah's gravestone. |
