Note | Death reg. 001151-81 Burford, Brant Co. Lucinda Jerrusha Trimble, died 12 July 1881. Age 24 years, 9 months. Born Burford. Methodist. Cause of death: Heart clot (supposed). Half an hour. Titus and Ellen evidently named Lucinda after Titus' sister, Jerusha Lucinda Lawrason (the wife of Joseph Durham), who died in 1844. The spelling of one R has been maintained here, though either may be correct. The inscription on Lucinda's grave in Burford Congregational Cemetery reads: Trimble, Lucinda, d. 13 Jul 1881, 24 y, 9 m, 7 d, w/o Charles Trimble, dau/o Titus & Ellen Lawrason There is a discrepancy of one day between her stone and her death registration. Also, her death registration places her birth in Burford. This is an error. The family did not move to Burford until around 1863. The 1861 census shows the family still in South Dumfries and Lucinda is present and shown as age 5. |
