Marriage | He married Margaret Lawrason, daughter of Lawrence Lawrason and Rachel Pettit. |
Death | He died on 26 February 1860. |
Burial | He was buried at Brick Street Cemetery, London, Ontario. |
Note | Available evidence suggests that Margaret's marriage to Cyrenius hall was a late one for them both. The 1851 census at the township of Westminster in Middlesex County shows a Cyrenius Hall and wife Margaret. He is 64 and she is 48. With them are Cyrenius Hall (Jr.), a clothier, age 22, and Will., or Wilb., age 19. It may be noted that there was a Cyrenius Hall baptized in 1822, son of Benjamin Prescott Hall and wife Bridget. He is old to be the Cyrenius Jr. in Westminster in 1852. Benjamin Prescott Hall is likely the brother of Cyrenius, for Cyrenius had a son Prescott with an earlier wife Mary Fellows. Prescott is buried with Cyrenius and his mother in Brick Street Cemetery in London, Ontario. There is some evidence from an early Niagara baptism in Bertie Twp., near Fort Erie, that Cyrenius was married to a Julia, surname unknown. The son they had was John Warren Hall. (Evidence has been found to the effect that Julia's maiden name was Warren.) A marriage license was issued to Cyrenius for marriage to a Mary O. Fellows, on 24 Oct. 1825, and they are buried together at Brick Street Cemetery. Then on 20th Feb. 1844, at St. Mark's Church, Niagara, we find Cyrenius Hall, M.D. of Westminster marrying Helen, eldest daughter of John Ross of Niagara. This is almost certainly the same Cyrenius who married Margaret. For the present, we know nothing of the death of Helen Ross and we have no information as to his marriage to Margaret Lawrason, other than her brother's genealogical information. The sons with Cyrenius and Margaret in the 1852 census are probably children of Mary Fellows. |
