The date and place of their marriage is to be found in the following marriage notice in the October 21st, 1869, issue of the Norfolk Reformer: On the 13th instant, by the Rev. Elliot Grassett, at the residence of the bride's mother, Daniel, second son of Daniel Matthews Esq., Warden of the Community, to Matilda Jane, youngest daughter of the late Joseph Lawrason, Esq., both of the township of Windham. |
Burial | She was buried on 8 April 1903 at St. Johns Anglican Cemetery, Woodhouse Twp., Norfolk Co.. |
Death | She died on 8 April 1903 at Simcoe, Norfolk Co., Ontario, at age 52. |
Note | The obituary for Matilda in the April 9, 1903, issue of the Simcoe Reformer says that Matilda was buried in St. Johns Woodhouse. The Norfolk County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society's has transcribed the stones in St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery in Woodhouse Township (located near Simcoe, Ontario), and this includes the gravestones for Daniel and Matilda, which appear on page 33 of the transcription. |
