When Harriett's father, Monty Lovegrove, married to Linda Bechtel in 1928, the ceremony was performed by Wm. M. Lovegrove of Straffordville in Bayham Township. William Merton Lovegrove was Monty's brother and Harriett's uncle. The above marriage registration doesn't provide us with the exact venue for the marriage, but William Lovegrove had gone out as a candidate for the Methodist ministry as a member of Ainslie Street Methodist Church, Galt. The following year, while residing in Haldimand County, William married Meta Drake, also residing Haldimand. Their marriage registration states that both were born in Troy.
