| Note | She Birth reg. 039204-89 Ancaster Twp., Wentworth Co. Jessie Rouse born August 12, 1889. Parents Benjamin J. Rouse and Susie Tolhurst. Informant Benjamin J. Rouse, farmer, Ancaster. The marriage registration of Norman and Jessie shows her family name as Krouse. Her birth registration, however, while ill-writ, shows her name as Rouse. The 1891 and 1901 census shows the family name as Rouse. Earlier census information from both Beverly and Ancaster townships show the name as Rouse. The census information confirms Jessie's parentage as Benjamin and Susie Rouse. It does appear that earlier family members are buried in Rous-Howard Cemetery in Beverly Township. Some apparently spelled the name Rous. |
