| Note | The name of Davie Abel Jr. appears on his parents' gravestone in Troy Cemetery. Per a transcription done by the Hamilton Branch of the OGS, his portion of the stone reads: David Able Jr. died Aug. 27, 1838, aged 20 yrs. & 7 Mos. David's date of birth has been calculated from his age at time of death per the inscription on his gravestone. This is probably more approximate than accurate. Given that Troy Cemetery was not opened until around 1835 or 1836, David's burial was one of the earliest recorded. Only three earlier ones have been found.
