| Note | We do not as yet know Charlotte's maiden name. Various census years are consistent in placing her birth in Bath in Somerset. Her year of birth was approximately 1810 and she was apparently some four years older than her husband, William. Such evidence as we have indicates that William died in 1865 and that Charlotte then went to live with her son William and his wife Margaret in Homerton, Hackney. She is present in the household at the time of the 1871 and 1881 censuses. We do not as yet have a burial record for Charlotte. Such list of children that we have for William and Charlotte comes from census information, mostly, and the number of children they had is unclear. They were no children living with them at the time of the 1861 census in Homerton, but, by this time, their children would have been grown and likely with families of their own. |
