NoteHe Almost certainly, William Lloyd Causon, born 1814 in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, is the son of William Causon and Juliana Lloyd, who were married in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire on 23 May 1802. (This same Juliana Lloyd may be the Juliana Lloyd who died in Tewkesbury on 10 September, 1827.) More research is needed to confirm this connection. One problem is that Juliana gave birth to a son named William Causon (perhaps middle name Lloyd, though this isn't stated) in 1803. The child was the 3rd of April. It is also recorded, however, that the child died on the 23rd of February, 1806. Variations in naming conventions do exist, however, commonly, the first born male was named after the paternal grandfather. Where a child so named died, it was not uncommon to name a later born child the same. Since we can link Juliana Lloyd to William Lloyd Causon born in 1814, for the present, we will accept that this is what happened in this case. Another, perhaps reasonable, explanation may exist, but is certainly not obvious with the information we have at present.

Census information is of considerable assistance in tracing the family. The family is present in the 1841 census. English censuses from 1851 asked for place of birth and this is of particular assistance in tracing the family.

It is obvious from census information that William Lloyd Causon, born approximately 1814 in Tewkesbury, was some four years younger than his wife Charlotte. He is present at the time of the 1861 census at 22 Anderson Road in Homerton, Hackney. His wife Charlotte is living with son William by the time of the 1871 census in Homerton at 12 College Street and is shown as a widow.

The Parish of St. Barnabas Homerton shows a burial for William Causon on February 5, 1865. His age is given as 51, which works with the 1861 census, and his residence was Anderson Road, Homerton.

Until contrary evidence is received, this tree will show William's death as being in February of 1865.

The 1851 census shows the family at 14 Anderson Road in Homerton, Hackney. Son William, age 13, is shown as an errand boy. Daughter Juliana has been added to the family, but son Edward is not present and we find is deceased.
