On August 30, 1881, at Mount Forest, by Rev. John McWilliam.

At the same time, Rev. McWilliam married Ellen's brother John to Sarah Jane Jamieson, sister of Thomas Jamieson. The witnesses were the same, evidently members of the clergyman's family.

Note that the marriage was in August of 1881, but the marriage wasn't registered until January of 1882.
