Thus far, the only marriage information that we have for William Henley and Elizabeth Porter is William's obituary in the Niagara Falls Gazette. It states that he married the oldest daughter of R. D. Porter some three years previously and that she died about a year after their marriage. |

| Note | The 1870 census taken at Niagara Falls, New york, shows 'Libbie', the eldest daughter of Roderick Porter as being 13. Her year of birth is calculated on this. Also, since William's will indicated that he wished to be buried with his wife and other information indicates that the Porters were buried at Oakwood Cemetery, and since William's burial information shows him being buried in Oakwood Cemetery, it seems likely that this is where Elizabeth is buried. There is no evidence that William and Elizabeth had children. The full name of Elizabeth Porter's father was Roderick Dhu Porter. |
