NoteOld Fulton Postcards provides us with a copy of page 14 of the January 26, 1942, edition of the Niagara Falls (New York) Gazette, which has an obituary for William Vrooman. It says that he died at his home, The Niagara Fruit Farm, Niagara Parkway.

The obituary goes on to saw:

A descendant of United Empire Loyalist stock, Mr. Vrooman lived on the same property which was given to his family under crown deed of England more than a century and a half ago and has been in the possession of his family ever since.

It goes on to say that he was a membr of St. Andrew's United Church, of Niagara Falls, Ont., and that he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vrooman. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Josie Vrooman; two sons, Harry, at home, and William, in Toronto, and three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Gibson, of Windsor, Mrs. Arthur Tilton, of Niagara Falls, and Miss Ida Vrooman, at home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

One error in the above obituary is that Miss Ida Vrooman's name should read Ila.
