| Note | Birth reg. 034802-92 West Garafraxa Twp., Wellington Co. Obethy Perinda Ellis Born November 8, 1891. Parents Elam Ellis and Henrietta Smith. Informant Elam Ellis, Farmer. Registered on March 18, 1892 (hence the 1892 year of registration.) A minor note, but an examination of the image showing the two pages covering 12 births, Obethy's included, for West Garafraxa for the time period, indicates that registrar James Kennedy used what was probably a rubber stamp to apply his signature. This is the first example that this researcher can think of for such a use. At the time of the 1911 census, Obethy was working as a domestic at a home in the village of Elora. |
