| Note | William and Etta are reported to have had no children. William is said to have died just prior to their 60th wedding anniversary. Birth reg. 036972-83 West Garafraxa, Wellington Co. William Smith Ellis, born 1st December, 1881, son of Elam Ellis, farmer, West Garafraxa, and Henrietta Smith. Reg. on 7 February 1883. This registration was not filed until February 7, 1883. It does show the birth of William as being December 1st, 1881. This will be an error, for William appears with his family in West Garafraxa Township in the 1881 census. This census commenced on April 4th of the year. In it, William is shown as 4/12, or, in other words, four months old. This would place his birth in December of 1880. |
