ID # 1721, (1857-1912)
|Father||Hugh Laird (1818-1862)|

|Birth||James Oliver Laird was born on 15 January 1857 at Wisconsin.|

We do not have a date or location for the marriage of James and Josephine. A family connection names Josephine Miller as one of James' two wives. Birth registrations for son Leo in December of 1881 and daughter Lessie, born in 1883, confirms for us Josephine's maiden name. James was living with his mother at the time of the 1880 census in the month of June. We can only approximate their marriage as being in late 1880 or early 1881.
|Marriage||He married Mary Isabelle Willey on 3 July 1901 at Grant County, Wisconsin.|
FamilySearch provides us with a transcription of James and Belle's marriage registration. In this, she is shown as Mary Bell Luce, for she was first married to a James Oliver Luce (same given names as her second husband.)
The transcription reads:
James O. Laird married Mary Bell Luce on 3 July, 1901. His parents Hugh Laird and Nancy Vroman. Her parents Henry and Mary Wilz (Willey). The marriage was at Grant, Wisconsin.
