George was a worker in the mill, but also an inventor and patented designs related to textile equipment. At some point the family moved to Indiana. They returned to Galt on numerous occasions to visit. Frank Church was a first cousin of Ida's and he managed a hotel in Preston. On occasion, when the Davidsons came to visit, he would throw family dinners at the hotel which were remembered by older family members as great affairs.|
George and Ida were in Fort Wayne City, Indiana, in the 1930 U.S. census. He is 72 and she 59. They have lodgers, but none of the lodgers appear to be a family connection. He is said to be a foreman in a hosiery mill. Agewise, Ida's age as stated is close to correct.
They likely died in Fort Wayne.
In the 1920 census, her age is written illegibly, but 49 would be right. He is said to be 62 and foreman in a knitting mill. Two of their children are with them: Gladys A. and Earl G. She is said to be 20 and he 25. She is a stenographer in a ? store and he is a machinist in a knitting mill.
