Methodist Episcopal Church No. 27
Rev'd. O. G. Callamore
(While the list of marriages is headed as performed by Rev. Callamore, immediately under George's name is:
Solemnized by Rev. George Hunt)

George Coleman, age 25, born and residing Beverly. Parents Daniel and Mary Coleman.
Marg't Church, age 18, residing Flamboro, born England. Parents Wm. and Sarah Church.
Witnesses Joseph Markle and Jennett Markle, both of Ancaster.
On Feb. 27, 1867.

The county clerk has written Harriet's name as the abbreviated form of Margaret. We can only believe this to be a clerical error.

The actual image for this page was found on Familysearch.org, Ontario, County Marriage Registers, 1858-1869, Wentworth, image 168.

These records do not typically show the actual location of the marriage. Since, however, George and Harriet were married by a Methodist Episcopal clergyman, they were likely married at Troy. Certainly, there was an Episcopal Methodist Church at Troy at the time. The new building was not built until 1873, the older one being made of wood.

A census or marriage record for the Markles has not been found.
