| Note | Charles years of birth and death are taken from the inscription on the family stone in Hamilton Cemetery, section H5. Given some of the early dates on this stone, it may be that some family members are not actually buried here but, rather, commemorated on the gravestone. We have a number of years of births and deaths from transcriptions of the stones of several of Charles' siblings. Some of these will be accurate and they at least compare well with others that may be suspect. Where we have no clear death registrations, gravestone inscriptions of death dates are accepted here. It may be mentioned that, in his will, Charles Person (the father) makes mention of property in the Town of Dundas jointly owned by himself and Frederick Blain. We find Charles and James Person in the home of Frederick and Harriet Blain in the 1861 census in Puslinch Township in Wellington County. It is evident from marriage registrations of the children of Frederick and Harriet that Harriet's maiden name was Morrison. She was almost certainly a sister of Arabella's. Since Charles death date is shown on the family stone as 1861, we must guess that Charles died after 14 August, which is the date that the 1861 census was to have been enumerated. |
