Douglas Edward Cooper

     1 Douglas Edward Cooper was born on 15 April 1899 in Vernon, British Columbia.2,3 He was the son of Thomas Cooper and Sarah Rolston.4,3 He was a a brewery machine operator from about 1919 to his death in 1961.3 He married Alice Wilmot Johnson on 9 August 1920 in Vancouver, British Columbia.4 He died on 17 September 1961 in Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster, British Columbia, at age 62 of a heart attack suffered while mounting the staircase of a railroad car causing him to fall backward, striking his head on a hard surface. The fall occurred at the CPR in Port Coquitlam.3 He was buried on 20 September 1961 in Fraser Cemetery, New Westminster, British ColumbiaG.3

A story about the Thomas Cooper family appeared in Bunch Grass to Barbed Wire, a local history of the Kamloops, BC area, published in 1984.5
