     Mary Ann Jones was born on 16 January 1818 in Troy, Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.1,2 She was the daughter of James Jones and Hannah Goodale. She married Rufus Dodge on 26 February 1835 in Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.3,1 She and Rufus Dodge immigrated in 1863 to Brady Twp, Saginaw County, Michigan.3 In 1865 Mary Ann Jones and Rufus Dodge moved to a farm near Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan.1 She died on 14 May 1889 in Chesaning, Michigan, at age 71.3,1 She was buried in Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan.4

Mary's exact place of birth isn't known. Almost certainly it will have been either Ancaster or Beverly Township.

Mary's stone in the cemetery at Chesaning shows her birth year as 1820. The 1861 census taken at Brantford confirms her birth year as closer to 1818 and that is used here.2
