      Walter Goodbrand was born on 29 May 1875 in Boyndie, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of Walter Goodbrand and Isabella Cowie.2 Walter Goodbrand Sr & his family sailed from Glasgow for Canada aboard the SS Hibernia on 27 April 1893. After a 13 day voyage across the Atlantic they arrived in Quebec City on 9 May 1893.3 He married Lulu Maud Jones, daughter of Amos Randall Jones and Mary Ann Misener, on 29 October 1903 in Hamilton, Ontario.4,5 He was left a widower when Lulu Maud Jones died on 12 April 1942.6 He died on 11 October 1945 of a coronary thrombosis in St Peter's Infirmary, Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario, at age 70.1 He was buried on 15 October 1945 in Millgrove Cemetery, Millgrove, Ontario, according to his death registration. However, the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid places his grave in Hamilton Cemetery.1
