Amos Randall Jones 1876
      Amos Randall Jones was born on 29 October 1857 in Ancaster Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.1 He was the son of James William Jones and Minerva Jane Mulholland.2,3,1 He married Mary Ann Misener, daughter of John Misener and Mary Ann Steves, on 1 July 1878 in Centenary Methodist Church, Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario.4 He and Mary Ann Misener lived on a farm near Copetown, Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario, from 1878 to abt 1890 after which they moved to Waterdown, East Flamboro Twp.5 After about 1890 Amos Randall Jones lived on about 20 acres of Lot 9, Con 2, 1.5 miles from Waterdown, East Flamboro Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario. When Amos died in 1905, the farmhouse was 2 storeys with a living room, dining room and kitchen on the first floor, and four bedrooms on the upper floor. The property was valued at $1700.6,2,5 He was a a market gardener growing strawberries which sold for 8 cents/box, tomatoes that were canned in Hamilton, and cucumbers and cabbage that were sold in the market in Hamilton from the back of his wagon.5 He died of of spinal meningitis on 26 December 1905 in Waterdown, East Flamboro Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario, at age 48.3,2,7,5 He was buried on 29 December 1905 in Troy Cemetery, Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.8,7 He died intestate. His estate was probated on 18 January 1911 in Wentworth County, Ontario, The estate was valued at $2050 and was divided 1/3 to his widow Mary Ann ($683.34) and 1/6 to each of his children ($341.66.)2
