Wesley Coleman was born on 15 November 1847 in Troy, Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.1 He was the son of Daniel Coleman and Mary Abel.1 He married Margaret Cunningham on 15 November 1882 in Hamilton, Ontario.1 He died on 29 June 1932 in Hamilton, Ontario, at age 84.2
He was buried on 1 July 1932 in Troy Cemetery, Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.1
Wes Coleman was a supporter of the Liberals. His brother George was a Conservative. One day they got into a heated argument and neither was making headway. Finally George said in exasperation, 'Damn it, Wes, if a pig were running for the Liberals you'd vote for him!' Wes's response was, 'Damn right!1'
