The Brant County branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society has transcribed this cemetery and such information which follows is taken from this transcription. See page 15.

They are shown as being buried in 'Old Section N' of the cemetery. William Birkett's date of death is shown as 24 August, 1874. His age is given as 81 and his place of birth is transcribed as being Quarryhouse, Lancashire, England.

Eleanor Bateman's date of death is shown as being 16 June, 1879. Her age is given as 78 yrs, 10 mos., and tells that she was a native of Ulverston in Westmorland.

In 1883, Warner & Beers published The History of the County of Brant. Page 553 begins a brief history of Thomas Burkitt, a son of William and Eleanor. This, however, tells something of his parents, William and Eleanor, and of their coming to Canada in 1835. They are said to have come to Canada with six children and that they settled 'below Toronto' for some two years before relocating to Brant County. According to Warner & Beers, son Thomas, said to be their fifth child, was born in England, in 1828, according to the history (which may be correct, but doesn't entirely compute with the available information). Also born in England, according to the 1851 census taken in Brantford Township were daughters Mary, age 20, and Sarah, age 18. Eleanor, age 16, are said to have been born in Canada.

The 1851 Canada West census (begun in January of 1852) shows William and Eleanor in Brantford Township.
