Bit of a guess, but the marriage was probably held at Oneida United Church which is at the intersection called Clanbrassil. According to Google Maps, there is an Oneida United Church at Clanbrassil. It is also but one field away from the Gore Cemetery where Robert and Fannie are buried. Clanbrassil has a history to do with its name. At this location there was established a post office in 1863 and it was named Dufferin. The name of the post office was changed to Clayton, briefly, in 1881, and then, later in 1881 the name of the post office was changed to Clanbrassil. This post office was closed in 1914 and mail was handled by rural mail delivery by Hagersville thereafter. |
