The above registration does not give William's place of birth. Census information tells us that he was born in Ontario, though, at the time, 1837, this would have been Upper Canada. William's mother's maiden name is rather illegible, but is almost certainly Marshall. This would agree with her name as it appears on William Gibson's marriage registration. |
