The recording clerk in the above marriage registration is wonderfully complete in all matters...except identifying himself and in just what jurisdiction he was located. There was apparently a recording clerk at the town of Napanee, which was located in the Township of Richmond, and so Napanee is shown as the town, not only where the marriage was officiated, but where the recording clerk was located.
