Name of father Somerville, birthplace unknown. Mother's name and birthplace unknown. Physician James A. Baker of Gore Bay. Informant Peter Donaldson, son, Gore Bay. Burial Gordon Cemetery, Manitoulin, Feb 15, 1924. Allan and Gordon Townships on Manitoulin Island are side by side. The registrar was evidently the registrar for both townships. This does not tell us in just which township Jane died. The Donaldson family's property was in Allan Township, at Ice Lake. The above death registration shows Peter Donaldson, Jane's son, as informant in her death, and seems to place him at Gore Bay. This was in all probability his postal address. When Peter died in 1943, he is shown as dying in Allan Township. That Jane might have been attended by a Gore Bay doctor is reasonable. In all likelihood, she died in Allan Township. |
