| Note | Page 280 of the Fretz book has something to say about the children of Mark and his wife. It has no information for Mark's wife. Her name is not given. Looking over the birth years of Mark's children, however, it is likely the couple was married in 1765 or perhaps only a very little earlier. Fretz states that Mark was born in 1737 and that he died in 1831 at the age of 94 years and 22 days, and that he is buried at 'Deep Run'. This is in Bedminster Township of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. This is probably correct. Find-a-Grave tells that he was buried in Deep Run Mennonite Church East Cemetery on May 16, 1831, and that his death was on May 14, 1831. No photo of a gravestone is presented and it may well be that this information is to be found in the church's cemetery records. If there is any inaccuracy, it can't be by much. In any event, it certainly appears that Mark lived out his life in Pennsylvania. Fretz shows Mark's children as: Henry, Susan, David, Mark, Catharine, Daniel, Barbara, Elizabeth and Anna. The main body of the Fretz book provides genealogical information for Daniel's children. Barbara, Elizabeth, and Anna are shown on page 332, which comes under the heading of Omissions. Barbara Wismer is said to have married an Emmanuel Gordon, but no descendants were found. Elizabeth is said to have married a man by the name of Everett from New Jersey. Descendants not found. Anna Wismer is said to have married a Jacob Angeny. By him, Fretz lists seven children - John, Abraham, Henry, Stophel, Catharine, David, Barbara. Fretz then tells that Anna married a second time. Her second husband was John Loux. By him she had one son, Moses. |
