The Waterloo-Wellington branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society transcribed marriage notices as they appeared in the Dumfries Reformer for the years of 1853-1859. This shows the marriage of Andrew Dryden to Helen Hogg, both of Dumfries, as being on the 31st of October, 1856. This appeared in the Reformer edition of 5 November, 1856. The clergyman was Rev. Hamilton Gibson of St. Andrews Church in Galt.
